Six the characteristics of sulfur hexafluoride gas insulating materials:

(1)不易着火、安全性高。常温、常压下的SF6为不燃气体，万一设备本身出现故障或周围发生火灾时，SF6不会燃烧，可防止火势的蔓延。

(1) it is not easy to catch fire and has high safety. SF6 is a non-combustible gas under normal temperature and pressure. If the equipment itself fails or a fire occurs around it, SF6 will not burn, which can prevent the spread of fire.

 

 

(2)使用寿命和检修周期长。SF6电气设备为完全密封结构，外部的空气、水分和其它杂质等不易侵入，一般不会出现内部受潮和气、尘污染等现象，其内各部件又为不活泼的SF6所包围，从而减缓了电气材料的老化。

(2) long service life and overhaul cycle. SF6 electrical equipment is completely sealed structure, the external air, moisture and other impurities are not easy to intrude, generally do not appear internal damp and gas, dust pollution and other phenomena, and its internal components are surrounded by inactive SF6, thus slowing down the aging of electrical materials.

SF6本身不易变质，沉积物和其它污染杂质也较少，与充油设备相比，相对延长了设备的使用寿命和检修周期。 

SF6 itself is not easy to deteriorate, sediments and other pollution impurities are less, compared with oil-filled equipment, relatively extended the service life of equipment and maintenance cycle.  

(3)占地面积小，安装、操作简便。全封闭的SF6组合电器设备，其结构十分紧凑，体积小，使用、安装的占地面积也小。据统计，一个采用全封闭组合电器的变电所的占地面积仅为敞开式变电所的20％。SF6断路器和变压器的安装、操作比较简单，其总重量比充油设备轻得多，运行时的噪声也较小。

(3) small footprint, easy installation and operation. Fully enclosed SF6 combined electrical equipment, its structure is very compact, small volume, use, installation of small footprint. According to statistics, a fully enclosed combined electrical substation occupies only 20% of the open substation area. The installation and operation of SF6 circuit breaker and transformer are relatively simple. The total weight of SF6 circuit breaker and transformer is much lighter than that of oil-filled equipment, and the noise during operation is also small.

(4)性能优良、远行可靠。SF6的绝缘特性比空气好，开断容量大，为优良的灭弧介质。在相同条件下，其灭孤能力相当于空气的100倍；灭孤后又不产生游离碳之类的炭质物，运行安全可靠。

(4) excellent performance and reliable travel. The insulation property of SF6 is better than that of air, and its breaking capacity is large. It is excellent arc extinguishing medium. Under the same conditions, its desorption ability is equivalent to 100 times that of air; after desorption, no carbon such as free carbon is produced, and the operation is safe and reliable.
