Properties: white massive crystals. The density is 2.55lg/cm3 (liquid, 17.5 C). The melting point is 17.5 degrees centigrade. Dry air, chlorine gas and sulfur dioxide do not react. It is sensitive to wet air and produces blue molybdenum oxide. A large amount of water is dissolved and decomposed. In the presence of a strong oxidizer, a lot of metals (except gold and platinum) can be eroded at room temperature, making the metal surface blue.
